Am I what?
I know, this topic is a bit of a diversion from the usual worship leader fare.
Or is it?
What person on planet earth doesn’t struggle with sexual temptation? Matter of fact, as worship leaders we need to especially guard ourselves in this area.
We’re on a stage. Emotions are high. It’s easy to become emotionally connected to someone who is not your spouse.
After the demands of ministry are over, it’s easy to let our guard down – to look and lust and lie. Nobody’s watching right?
Are you focused on developing your worship team? Or do you just use volunteers to get Sunday done?
With a little planning and intentionality, you can develop worship leaders. You can grow your team. You can raise up the next generation.
Don’t buy into the lie that this is only for the professionals – set apart for the incredibly worship savvy, big name gurus.
You can do this.
How does an obscure, little-known artist rise to the top of the indie music scene?
How does a low budget recording with a guy hand plucking an acoustic guitar seemingly take over the world?
Enter the world of Bon Iver (aka Justin Vernon). You may or may not love his music. You may not “get it”. You may wonder what all the hype is. But this guy has risen to the forefront of modern music.
Stages. Lights. Leadership. Influence.
All of these things tempt us to think we’re the cat’s pajamas – to think we’re all that.
The floods of comments we hear from our congregations, the feedback pouring in through our blogs, the adoration we hear from others – all contribute to a problem within us.
